Guillermo is a serial entrepreneur and an emerging ocean explorer. In 2009, he co-founded OceanGate, a company that designs and builds next-generation deep ocean manned submersibles for a variety of industries and clients. As expedition leader and sub pilot, he organized six expeditions in U.S. waters using Antipodes, a submersible capable of taking 5 people to depths of 1,000 feet (305 meters). In 2013, he co-founded Blue Marble Exploration, which is currently organizing an expedition in the Bahamas to explore Dean’s Blue Hole, the world’s largest underwater cavern. He firmly believes that making our oceans accessible for further exploration is the key to preserving its many delicate ecosystems.
